Generations of passion for fruit

Our company was founded by Franz Zentis in 1893. A love of fruit is what turned a regional colonial goods merchant in Aachen into an internationally active family business and one of Europe’s leading fruit processors. Read here about how it all began:

Dairy products became not only more fruity, but also more exotic. Varieties like banana and pineapple satisfied customers’ yearning for distant places.
Another new product of the mid-60s was “Warm Flavor” preparations. Zentis delighted German consumers everywhere with its chocolate, vanilla, and hazelnut varieties. This laid the foundation for subsequent innovations such as the first Schoko-Splits for stracciatella yogurt.

Zentis re-establishes itself with a second factory in Aachen

Success brought the need for more and more production space. Our central location was soon too small for our big ideas. We relocated our confectionery production and opened a new factory in Aachen-Eilendorf in 1995. We also expanded and reorganized our Jülicher Straße plant by investing €28 million, and since 2004 theise 70,000 m² premises have provided space for optimum production processes.
